7/15/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, have finished construction and restoration within the scope of the Nicollet Avenue construction project.

We understand that the Nicollet Avenue construction project was an inconvenience to people living and commuting in and around the area, so we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to complete restoration as safely and quickly as possible.

6/29/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along Nicollet Avenue.

Crews are working on both the west side and east side of Nicollet Avenue at the south end of the project.

Crews anticipate completing construction tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30th.

Restoration along Nicollet Avenue, north of Heritage Circle N., is complete. Crews are currently paving along Nicollet Avenue, south of Heritage Circle N. Hard surface restoration is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week.

Soft surface restoration will follow and continue until the middle of next week.

6/17/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along the right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue. This area continues to be closed as construction progresses.

The city of Burnsville is restoring the curb along the right lane of northbound Nicollet Avenue. Therefore, Nicollet Avenue is reduced to one lane in both directions.

Crews are currently directional boring along Nicollet Avenue at 134th Street E. and at 136th Street E.

Restoration along Nicollet Avenue, north of 130th Street E., is complete.
Construction within the scope of this project is approximately 80% complete.

6/5/2015 Update​​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along the right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue. This area continues to be closed as construction progresses.

An additional crew was added onsite this week. These crews are currently directional boring along Nicollet Avenue, from Heritage Circle N. to 134th Street E. Crews anticipate reaching 134th Street E. by early next week.

From next Tuesday, June 9th to Wednesday, June 10th, crews from Q3, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will begin restoration. On Thursday, June 11th, or after restoration is complete, all traffic control will be removed north of Heritage Circle N. along Nicollet Avenue.

5/29/2015 Update​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along the right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue. This area continues to be closed as construction progresses.

Crews are currently directional boring along Nicollet Avenue, from 129th Street E. to Arbor Lane. Crews anticipate reaching Arbor Lane by next Wednesday, June 3rd.

Please note the crew onsite will also be replacing the remaining five service lines within the scope of this project. Representatives from CenterPoint Energy will continue to contact residents whose gas service may be affected to schedule the necessary construction work on their property.

5/22/2015 Update​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along Nicollet Avenue.

Crews are currently open trenching along the boulevard of southbound Nicollet Avenue, from approximately 380 feet south of 130th Street E. to approximately 300 feet south of Heritage Circle N. Construction will be concentrated between these streets, but minor construction remains in scattered areas north of this area.

Heritage Circle N. is reduced to one lane at Nicollet Avenue. Traffic flow will remain open in both directions.

The right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue traffic will continue to be closed as construction progresses.

Crews will resume moving south along Nicollet Avenue next Wednesday, May 27th.

5/7/2015 Update​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along Nicollet Avenue.

Crews are currently open trenching along the boulevard of southbound Nicollet Avenue, between Burnsville Parkway and 130th Street E. The goal is to reach 130th Street E. by next Friday, May 15th, weather permitting.

The right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue traffic will continue to be closed in this area as construction progresses.

4/21/2015 Update​​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, finished installing natural gas service line replacements along Nicollet Avenue, between West Travelers Trail and Burnsville Parkway. Restoration is underway in this area and will be completed by the end of the week.

Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22nd, crews will continue installing natural gas distribution pipe southwards along Nicollet Avenue. The right lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue traffic will be closed in this area as construction progresses.

Construction along Nicollet Avenue, from Burnsville Parkway to 130th Street E. will continue for the next two weeks.

4/9/2015 Update​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, continue installing natural gas distribution pipe in Burnsville.

Crews are currently working along Travelers Trail W. and 200 feet south of Burnsville Parkway along Nicollet Avenue. The west lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue traffic is closed in this area.

Beginning next week, construction will continue southwards along Nicollet Avenue, from Burnsville Parkway to 130th Street E. The west lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue  traffic will remain closed as construction progresses southwards.

Service line replacements are expected to begin next week along Travelers Trail W. and Nicollet Avenue, north of 126th Street W. Representatives from CenterPoint Energy will contact residents whose gas service may be affected to schedule the necessary construction work on their property.

3/27/2015 Update​​

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will begin installing natural gas distribution pipe on Monday, March 30th in Burnsville.

Crews will begin construction at Travelers Trail W. and continue southwards along Nicollet Avenue to Burnsville Parkway. The west lane of southbound Nicollet Avenue will be closed as construction progresses. Southbound Nicollet Avenue will be reduced to a single lane from Travelers Trail to Burnsville Parkway.

Construction will continue for three to four weeks in this area.
