6/10/2016 Update
Crews from CenterPoint Energy are working on 69th Avenue N. from France Avenue N. to Ewing Avenue N. in Brooklyn Center.
Currently they closed the sidewalk from France Avenue N. to east of Ewing Avenue N. and closed the southeast bound lane of 69th Avenue N.
After the smaller pipelines are installed, the crews will begin intersection work at Grimes Avenue, Halifax Avenue and Indiana Avenue which is scheduled to be completed on Monday, June 13.
On Tuesday, June 14, the crews will work on France Avenue north of 69th Avenue N. There will be a lane shift west to complete this work which will be done by the end of the day.
Weather permitting the crews will replace and install a new 8" steel pipeline from France to Brooklyn Boulevard beginning June 15 or 16. The south lane of the eastbound lanes of 69th Avenue N. will be closed. This work should take 1 to 2 weeks.
6/6/2016 Update
Crews from CenterPoint Energy have closed off 69th Avenue N. between Humboldt Avenue N. and Highway 252 near Camden Avenue N. Both directions going east and west are closed off. Installing pipework will take about two or three weeks and restoration will take an additional week.
A detour will direct drivers onto 69th Avenue N. through Dupont Avenue N. There is also local access onto 69th Avenue N. by driving through the residential section of the neighborhood.
5/13/2016 Update
On May 22, crews will be working along Brooklyn Boulevard.
For one day, on May 22, Brooklyn Boulevard between 68th Avenue N. and 69th Avenue N. will have lane closures. The easternmost southbound lane will be closed. The two westernmost northbound lanes will also be closed. The sidewalk on the west side of Brooklyn Boulevard will be closed as well.
Traffic along 69th Avenue N. will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction project. Please drive slowly and with caution in the areas of construction.
5/6/2016 Update
Next week, crews from MN Limited LLC., an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will be working between Zane Avenue N. and Toledo Avenue N. along 69th Avenue N.
From 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 69th Avenue N. will be reduced to one lane. Flaggers will be onsite maintaining traffic flow in both directions. During non-work hours, there will be one lane of traffic in both directions.
The second crew onsite from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will be working between Humbdolt Avenue N. and Dupont Avenue N. through next Tuesday, May 10, weather permitting.
This crew will then jump to Noble Avenue N., working between Brooklyn Boulevard and 71st Avenue N. through the end of next week. Please anticipate the east sidewalk to be closed in this area.
Traffic along 69th Avenue N. will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction project. Please drive slowly and with caution in the areas of construction. Thank you.
4/21/2016 Update
Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, are now installing pipeline westwards along the north side of 69th Avenue N. to just west of Zane Avenue N. through early next week.
The north sidewalk is closed between Zane Avenue N. and Toledo Avenue N.
Beginning Monday, April 25, crews from MN Limited LLC., an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, will begin installing 24-inch pipeline along the south side of 69th Avenue N. between Toledo Avenue N. and Zane Avenue N. Crews anticipate working in this area for the following six weeks.
Traffic along 69th Avenue N. will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction project. Please drive slowly and with caution in the areas of construction. Thank you.
4/12/2016 Update
Crew from Michels Corporation and MN Limited LLC., two authorized CenterPoint Energy contractors, will begin a four and a half month long project along 69th Avenue N. in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center on Thursday, April 14.
On Thursday, April 14, residents and commuters near 69th Avenue N. can anticipate crews from Michels Corporation to begin construction near the west end of the project in front of North View Middle School.
Crews will begin installing pipeline just west of the schools easternmost entrance and move eastwards along the south side of 69th Avenue N. to just west of Presbyterian Homes and Services easternmost entrance near Toledo Avenue N.
Crews anticipate working three to four days for this section.
Early to mid-next week, crews will bore northwards underneath 69th Avenue N. to just west of Unity Avenue N. Crews will then work their way westwards along the north side of 69th Avenue N. towards Zane Avenue N.
Please anticipate sidewalk closures between Zane Avenue N. and Toledo Avenue N. Two way traffic will be maintained in both directions along 69th Avenue N.
