Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, along with certified pipeline inspectors, finished performing assessments on pipeline segments along the Nicollet Avenue S. bridge at I-494.

The the exit ramp off of westbound I-494 is now open and northbound Nicollet Avenue S. traffic is able to turn onto the entrance ramp to westbound I-494.

10/23/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, along with certified pipeline inspectors, continue performing assessments on pipeline segments along the north half of the Nicollet Avenue S. bridge at I-494.

Beginning last Tuesday, October 20 and continuing through next Friday, October 30, the exit ramp off of westbound I-494 will be closed and northbound Nicollet Avenue S. traffic cannot turn onto the entrance ramp to westbound I-494.

10/13/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, along with certified pipeline inspectors, continue performing assessments on pipeline segments along the Nicollet Avenue S. bridge at I-494.

Crews continue working near the south half of Nicollet Avenue S. The entrance ramp to eastbound I-494 and the exit ramp off of eastbound I-494 will remain closed through Monday, October 19.

The E 78th Street frontage road will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14.

Construction on the north half will follow early next week, with the exit ramp to westbound I-494 closing for the remaining 2 weeks.

​​​10/2/2015 Update

Crews from Michels Corporation, an authorized CenterPoint Energy contractor, along with certified pipeline inspectors, will perform approximately 9 assessments on pipeline segments along the Nicollet Avenue S. bridge at I-494.

The work includes excavating and exposing the pipe segment, performing the assessment and making remedial repairs. Weather permitting, the project will start on Tuesday, October 6 and will require approximately 3-4 weeks to complete the work.

Construction will begin at the south half of the Nicollet Avenue S. bridge. The entrance ramp to eastbound I-494 and the E 78th Street frontage road will be closed for 1.5 weeks. Construction on the north half will follow, with the exit ramp to westbound I-494 closing for the remaining 2 weeks.
