Construction is finished in Bloomington on Lyndale Avenue S.

7/27/2016 Update

CenterPoint Energy is finished installing all the services on Lyndale Avenue S. from W. 86th Street to W. 94th Street in Bloomington.

Crews from Q3, an authorized contractor from CenterPoint Energy, are responsible for the hard and soft surface restoration of Lyndale Avenue S. along the same streets as above.

After CenterPoint Energy is done with restoration, the city of Bloomington may come onto Lyndale Avenue S. if they need further construction.

7/19/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished installing all the pipes and services on Lyndale Avenue S. in Bloomington. Crews will be moving traffic control and filling the keyholes.

Currently the middle lane is closed for restoration. The outer lanes, black dirt and seed will be restored next, but drivers can still access the street northbound and southbound. ​



7/13/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are progressing in their construction on Lyndale Avenue S. in Bloomington.

On the east side of Lyndale Avenue S., crews finished installing all the services. On the west side, crews are installing the last of the services. They anticipate finishing all of the installations by approximately July 19.​



7/6/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy have finished installing services on the east side of Lyndale Avenue S. from W. 86th Street to W. 94th Street in Bloomington.

Currently the crews are installing services on the west side of Lyndale Avenue S. After installation the crews will restore the roads. ​


6/28/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are installing gas service lines to houses on Lyndale Avenue S. in Bloomington. Currently the crews are working from Halsey Lane south to W. 90th Street.

On the east side of Lyndale Avenue S., the houses whose gas service lines are installed include 8845, 8901, 8925, 8945, 9117.​



6/23/2016 Update

Detour route at Lyndale Avenue S. and W. 94th Street:

Crews from CenterPoint Energy will place a detour route on Lyndale Avenue S. in Bloomington starting this Monday, June 27, that will last till Friday, July 1.

Between W. 93rd Street and W. 95th Street, there is a single lane of traffic going north and south on Lyndale Avenue S.

Northbound traffic on Lyndale Avenue S. is shifted into the southbound lane for about 200 feet at W. 94th Street.

The detour will create a four-way stop at the W. 94th Street intersection.​



6/23/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are working on Lyndale Avenue S. in Bloomington.

From Lyndale Avenue S. to Dupont Avenue S. on W. 54th Street, crews set up hard closures with no traffic access. We will have the new 24” main installed up to Dupont Avenue S. by the end of the week.

Starting Monday, June 27, Lyndale Avenue S. to Dupont Avenue S. will be open for local traffic only. Also starting June 27, Dupont Avenue S. to Fremont Avenue S. will be closed on W. 54th Street for approximately a week.

The detour from Lyndale Avenue S. to Penn Avenue S. will remain for the rest of the project.​



6/22/2016 Update

Crews from CenterPoint Energy are finishing the installation of the 8-inch natural gas pipeline along Lyndale Avenue S., from W. 86th Street to W. 94th Street.
 
The remaining work includes the replacement of 50 natural gas service lines. Service crews will start June 23 or 24 at the U-Haul of Bloomington near Halsey Lane (W. 89th Street) going south on Lyndale Avenue S. to W. 94th Street.
 
The lane closures will remain the same as before. Northbound on Lyndale Avenue S. is down to one lane. The sidewalk on the east side of Lyndale Avenue S. is closed.

6/6/2016 Update

CenterPoint Energy is closing off 54th Street W. in Bloomington between Lyndale Avenue S. and Penn Avenue S. starting Monday, June 13. Both directions going eastbound and westbound will be closed off indefinitely for the whole summer. Local traffic may be allowed to pass through.


A detour will redirect drivers from Lyndale Avenue S. to 50th Street W., westward to Penn Avenue S., and then back to 54th Street W.


The detour will remain the same after CenterPoint transfers the project to the city of Minneapolis. After July 4, contractors from Minneapolis will take over the construction of 54th Street W., which will continue to last the summer. ​​


5/10/2016 Update

On Thursday, May 12th construction will begin near the intersection of Lyndale Avenue S. and 86th Street W. going south along the east side of the road.

The SE turn lane from Lyndale Avenue S. to 86th Street W. will be closed for approx. one week.

Crews will be working between 86th Street W. and 90th Street W. for approximately two weeks.​
