Executive Vice President and President, Electric Division
Current Position: Executive Vice President and President, Electric Division. In this role he has financial and operational responsibility for electric transmission and distribution for more than 2.4 million customers in the greater Houston area. He also oversees the company's customer operations as well as technology operations.
Previous Positions: Bridge has been with the company since 1986, when he was hired as a regulatory attorney for CenterPoint Energy’s gas operations in Minnesota; then serving 12 years as director of regulatory services and seven years as director of government and public relations. In 2007, he was named division vice president, Minnesota gas operations. In 2008, he was named division senior vice president, support operations, responsible for providing shared services to regulated gas and electric operations. In 2010, he was given responsibility for business transformation and regulated operations technology. In 2011, he was promoted to division president for gas operations in six states from Minnesota to Texas including: customer service, marketing and sales, and rates and regulatory. He was promoted to his current position leading CenterPoint Energy’s electric operations in 2012. Bridge’s utility experience began in 1976 as a utility laborer during his college summers in Lamoni, Iowa.
Affiliations: Bridge chairs the board of Rebuilding Together Houston. He is a past board member of the Southern Gas Association, the Greater Houston Chapter of American Red Cross, Minnesota Business Partnership, the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation (the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery), and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. Bridge is a past chair of the American Gas Association Rates and Strategic Issues Committee, where he was awarded AGA’s Outstanding Service Award.
Education: Bridge earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Graceland College in 1980, and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School in 1983. He has also completed advanced business and utility courses at the University of Michigan (1997), the University of Idaho (2006) and the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University (2007).
Personal: He is married and has two sons.
