Your natural gas dollar is split two ways: One part is the price we pay our suppliers for natural gas – known as the Cost of Gas – and is about 70 - 80 percent of a customer’s bill. This part changes monthly depending on market prices and is passed directly on to customers with no mark-up.
The other part goes to us to cover the costs of delivering natural gas through to you – known as the Distribution Charge. This part amounts to about 20 - 30 percent of your bill and is set by the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
