Natural Gas Prices
PRICES ARE STILL LOWER THAN LAST YEAR

Appliance CalculatorAs the heating season begins, natural gas prices typically rise modestly due in large part to the increased heating demand. Higher natural gas storage levels across the country have helped keep prices lower than this time last year and prices are forecasted to remain lower throughout the heating season.  We expect these lower prices to result in up to 20 percent lower overall natural gas bills than last year.

CenterPoint Energy is committed to delivering natural gas to customers safely, reliably and at reasonable prices.

Through the Gas Supply Rate (GSR), which makes up about 70 - 80 percent of the bill, the company passes through to its customers actual cost it pays for the natural gas it purchases without any mark-up.
