CenterPoint Energy is committed to delivering natural gas to customers safely, reliably and at reasonable prices. Natural gas prices have been declining since last summer's record highs, and we expect these lower prices to result in lower natural gas bills. Because we purchase and store this lower-priced natural gas for your use next heating season, you will likely enjoy these savings next winter as well.

Through the Gas Supply Rate (GSR), which makes up about 70 - 80 percent of the bill, the company passes through to its customers actual cost it pays for the natural gas it purchases without any mark-up.
