Gas is Better
Natuarl gas flameNatural gas has long been one of the most popular fuels available for your home, providing more comfort and savings for heating, water heating, cooking and clothes drying.

As the focus on energy efficiency and the environment grows stronger, it feels better than ever to know you're making informed decisions about the appliances you use in your home.

Next to other fuels, natural gas has always looked good. Now it looks even better.

 Savings

Natural gas costs less to use than other fuels. See a comparison.

Compare operating costs
You can use our convenient operating cost calculator to see how you could benefit from choosing natural gas versus electricity for the following appliances:

  • Water heater
  • Furnace
  • Range
  • Clothes dryer

You'll also see a cost comparison for a standard natural gas furnace versus high efficiency.

 Comfort

Choose natural gas appliances for more comfort.

Say 'no' to cold showers

Water heats two to three times faster with a natural gas water heater versus electric, so there’s less chance of running out of hot water at peak-use times.

Stay warmer

Natural gas furnaces deliver air at a comfortable 120 to 125 degrees.

Cook better
Precision control, efficiency and speed, make natural gas your not-so-secret ingredient to a perfect family meal. It's the chef's choice!

Feel better about your fun
Choose clean-burning, efficient natural gas for a reliable fuel supply for your grill, pool heater, patio heater, gas lights and more.

 Environment

Natural gas is a primary fuel that can be used in its natural state. It requires no pollution-producing, energy-wasting conversion process such as electricity does.

Reduce your carbon footprint

Using natural gas for heating, water heating, cooking and clothes drying leaves half the carbon footprint of an all-electric home. Compared to electricity, natural gas releases:

  • Less than half the amount of carbon dioxide (a major greenhouse gas)
  • Almost no sulfur dioxide (a major cause of acid rain and haze)
  • Less than one-third the amount of nitrogen oxides (the primary cause of smog)
  • Zero mercury emissions (makes some fish unsafe to eat)
