The Voluntary Fixed Price Option allows you to select a fixed price for the natural gas you will use for one year. It takes away the guesswork from your natural gas costs – typically the largest portion of your natural gas bill – helping protect you from the ups and downs of the energy market.
The fixed price applies only to the cost of the gas; regular delivery charges still apply. Your monthly bill will vary according to the amount of gas you use. The plan adds predictability but does not guarantee savings.
Qualifications
- Residential and small commercial customers must enroll by Oct. 9, 2010, and enroll for the entire 12-month period from Nov. 1, 2010 – Oct. 31, 2011. Keep in mind, there is limited availability for this option. CenterPoint Energy will send letters confirming or declining your enrollment by Nov. 1, 2010.
- Enrollment is limited to 8 percent of our total residential customers and 8 percent of small business customers.
- Not all customers who apply will be eligible or selected to participate.
