Dale WatelandDale Wateland 
Midwest and North Central Regions operations manager

Dale Wateland started his career with CenterPoint Energy in December 1995. Initially, Dale had dual roles within the company - performing gas operations duties in the mornings and spending the rest of his time in Billing and Finance. Since 1998, Dale has worked solely in Gas Operations.

He holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a concentration in marketing and management.

Dale oversees and supports the gas operations groups in the Minneapolis and Chicago markets. His many responsibilities include: developing and executing a winter supply/capacity plan for the Midwest market; supporting sales with competitive pricing activities and requests for proposals; assisting key customers on contract analysis; and calculating all rates used by Finance to bill Midwest market customers. Additionally, Dale  backs up to the Minneapolis office in hedging NYMEX and basis for Midwest customers.


Jesse BlairJesse Blair
Manager, Business Development

Native Houstonian Jesse Blair has worked for CenterPoint Energy since 1998. His career began in the Rates and Regulatory Affairs department in the company’s gas utility, where he focused on cost recovery in Gulf Coast gas jurisdictions and handled industrial customer pricing in Mississippi and Texas.

Jesse has a Finance degree from the University of Houston. Upon receiving his MBA from the University of Texas, he transitioned into Business Development at CenterPoint Energy Services. In his current role as Business Development Manager, Jesse is responsible for acquiring pipeline and storage assets used to transport gas from wholesale markets to end-use customers.

When pipeline or storage capacity becomes available on the wholesale market, CES’ Business Development group uses economic models to value capacity and determine the assets CES should acquire to get the most competitive supply to market. A large part of Jesse’s job is to help ensure that CES gets the best price for this capacity, which ultimately is built into the end-use customer’s supply price.


Monica MochadoMonica Machado
Transaction Analyst

Monica Machado began working in Business Services for CenterPoint Energy in 2007, where she remains today. She has more than 14 years’ experience in the energy business.

One part of Monica’s job includes billing for the Gulf Coast Region (Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi) and the Northeast Region (Pennsylvania). Her duties also include managing customer contracts; historical data; volume/usage; and pricing. She also handles customer service issues relating to invoicing – dealing with items such as calculating transport and applicable taxes. When a customer calls CES regarding an invoice issue, Monica works with the customer start to finish, helping ensure that the customer’s problem has been resolved.

 


Selena PlentlSelena Plentl
Account Executive – Gulf Coast Region

Selena Plentl attended Brazosport College and the University of Houston. In 1989, she began her career in the natural gas industry holding positions in various areas, including: contract administration, scheduling, physical/basis trading, and long term origination. In 2007, Selena started working for CenterPoint Energy Services for its Gulf Coast Marketing Region.

Selena works with both existing and prospective customers, initiating new sales contracts, managing existing sales contracts, and developing pricing structures that fit the customer’s needs. By customizing pricing structures, customers get more control of their supply price, as well as the ability to forecast budgets. She also provides fixed-priced quotes for customers and facilitates the execution of financial transactions for price locks.

Selena works closely with other CenterPoint Energy groups on pipeline extension projects, securing new customers or providing alternative supply for existing customers. Once she secures a pipeline project, she will stay involved throughout its completion and become the liaison between various groups and the customer.
