Natural gas griddle The folks at Who’s on First Restaurant and Bar in Waconia really do their prep work. Before they added breakfast to their menu, they researched a timesaving, cost-effective solution to turn breakfast orders fast – the Accu-Steam™ griddle from AccuTemp™.
 
“Our old unit’s temperature controls were inconsistent and it needed a number of repairs,” explained Mike Wille, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife, Suzanne. The restaurant needed to upgrade to a dependable, economical griddle for on-demand production.
 
High efficiency and easy operation impress
The staff considered numerous options before the natural gas Accu-Steam griddle was recommended. Foodservice professionals rely on its water and steam-filled chamber to keep surface temperatures consistent. Mike and Suzanne visited CenterPoint Energy’s Foodservice Learning Center to see the griddle in action, and they put in their order. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in short order
Now the 92-seat restaurant has customers hooked on eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, plus lunch and dinner delights. The 36'' x 29'' wide griddle is a full 4'' deeper than other griddles, so head cook Al Maki loads the griddle and turns out product in short order. With every square inch of griddle at one even temperature, productivity is as high as a standard griddle but half the size, for space and cost savings every facility can use.

Mouthwatering savings
Accu-Steam’s even, consistent heating delivers quality food fast with added food flavor. Eliminating hot and cold spots improves food safety and gives consistent results. Nicole Smith, restaurant general manager, is amazed at the cost and time savings. “We just season the griddle after it’s cleaned at night and again in the morning. We used to use an incredible amount of butter, now we use a minimum for cooking.”
