CenterPoint Energy recently received Missouri City’s “Golden Tree” award for its significant contributions to the Houston-area city in its effort to “go green.” CNP partnered with Missouri City in 2009 to create the “Right Tree Trail” in Ridgeview Park, with 33 powerline-friendly trees and educational panels describing how to plant the right tree in the right place.

“Every once in a while, a business goes the extra mile to show extraordinary efforts to contribute to helping sustain the environment,” said Paul Wierzbicki, Missouri City urban forester. “The Golden Tree Award was established to recognize outstanding businesses that make these kinds of contributions to our city.”
