The ENERGY STAR New Home Program is a market transformation program that encourages the construction of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA)volunteer ENERGY STAR New Home Program.

The 2013 program represents the 13^th consecutive year the ENERGY STAR Homes Program has been in operation in the Houston and Gulf Coast areas. CenterPoint Energy is an award-winning supporter of the national Energy Star for Homes program. It has received awards from the EPA recognizing its outstanding contributions to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficient homes that earn the ENERGY STAR rating. The utility has been awarded Partner of the Year for new homes in 2002 and 2003, Excellence in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Education in 2004 and 2005 and the EPA's award for Sustained Excellence in Program delivery for the past six years.

Services Provided

Participating builders receive technical assistance, training for the builder's sales and operations teams and marketing support through our advertising and marketing materials.

Program Eligibility

Builders must be approved for participation in the CenterPoint Energy program and construct homes within the CenterPoint Energy electric service territory. CenterPoint Energy does not pay direct incentives to homeowners for this program.

ENERGY STAR for Homes is a government program administered by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). CenterPoint Energy does not warrant construction, rating, or inspection of any ENERGY STAR home.

CenterPoint Energy is not a party to the agreement between you and your builder, and the builder is solely responsible for the performance of the work and contract fulfillment.

Funding provided by the regulated electric utility for this program is approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas in support of statewide energy efficiency efforts.
