The one-time donation will be used toward the Saint John Arboretum, which is dedicated to land stewardship, education, and environmental respect.  The college plans to dedicate the funds towards environmental education of school children from the surrounding school districts.

"We have proudly supported Saint John’s University’s environmental efforts for the past three years,” said Glenn Miller, Arboretum board member and manager of environmental programs at CenterPoint Energy. “The ability to support the Arboretum not only with this $5,000 donation but also with our volunteers’ time has been very rewarding."
