Houston, TX – June 13, 2012 – CenterPoint Energy recently awarded the City of West Memphis, Arkansas a Community Partnership Grant totaling $2,000 to be used by the local fire department toward the purchase of multi-gas atmospheric monitors.

“We are proud to offer our Community Partnership Grant Program to the communities we serve,” said Terry Rollins, district director of Gas Operations for CenterPoint Energy.  “The grant matches each city’s funds which are used to purchase safety equipment that enhances public safety in our communities.”

The 2012 CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership Grant program provides funds and awards up to $2,500 per community served by the company.  Priority is given to franchised communities that have not previously received a grant.

The cities that receive the grants must use the grant dollars for safety equipment or special safety related projects in the community.
