MINNEAPOLIS – December 13, 2012 – CenterPoint Energy recently awarded Robbinsdale’s School of Engineering and Arts at Olson Elementary (SEA) and Noble Elementary with certificates and monetary gift cards for helping make holiday cards for recipients of the Metro Meals on Wheels (MOW) program, which aims to help home bound clients receive the nutritious meals and human connection they need to help them live independently.
CenterPoint Energy along with the schools and local volunteers distributed candy and more than 700 specially made holiday cards, as well as, helpful energy assistance information to MOW participants.
“It is important for the School of Engineering and Arts to give back to our community. Noble Elementary Principal, Jane Byrne and I were thrilled to take part with CenterPoint Energy to help the Meals on Wheels program,” said Kim Hiel, principal of SEA. “We were further humbled when we received a $250 gift card from CenterPoint Energy that will be used to purchase science supplies for our school.
