CenterPoint Energy responds to explosion

HOUSTON – October 22, 2009 –CenterPoint Energy has responded to an explosion that occurred late this morning at a house in the 5600 block of Nightingale in southeast Houston.

CenterPoint Energy has well-trained, experienced crews on site who are working with local emergency officials to secure the area. The cause of the explosion is not known at this time; but the company can confirm that a service technician was in the area responding to a leak call at the time of the explosion. The company will conduct an investigation to determine the cause.
