The Percussive Arts Society is the largest percussion organization in the world.

The museum at Fort Sill is the largest in the U.S. Army. The National Historic Landmark includes 46 buildings and the museum occupies 26 of them.

Mattie Beal was the second of 6,500 names to be drawn in the lottery for 160-acre homesteads in 1901. Her home, constructed in 1909, still stands on a portion of the land that she selected. It has been completely restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
