Fast facts about the arts in Lawton:

• The Percussive Arts Society is the largest percussion organization in the world.
• The museum at Fort Sill is the largest in the U.S. Army. The National Historic Landmark includes 46 buildings and the museum occupies 26 of them.
• Mattie Beal was the second of 6,500 names to be drawn in the lottery for 160-acre homesteads in 1901. Her home, constructed in 1909, still stands on a portion of the land that she selected. It has been completely restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
• McMahon Auditorium seats 1,522 people.
