CenterPoint Energy recognized for March of Dimes support with President’s Award
Donations of nearly $27,000 to help babies begin healthy lives

MINNEAPOLIS – May 26, 2011 –CenterPoint Energy is a recipient of the March of Dimes President’s Award for donating nearly $27,000 this year. In 2011, CenterPoint Energy increased its giving by 15 percent to qualify for the President’s Award.

“CenterPoint Energy is extremely proud of the partnership with the March of Dimes, which aims to support research and programs that help babies begin healthy lives, and brings comfort and support to families with a newborn in intensive care.” said Tal Centers, division vice president, Minnesota Operations.

Nearly 90 employees sponsored or walked at the March for Babies events in Minneapolis, Mankato and Monticello, while other employees distributed refreshments to walkers at company sponsored checkpoints.
