Current Position: Senior Vice President and Group President, CenterPoint Energy Pipelines and Field Services.

Previous Positions: Before joining CenterPoint Energy in December 2008, Harper was president and CEO of Spectra Energy Partners, LP, a $1.6 billion master limited partnership formed by Spectra Energy. He also served as a director on the board of the general partner of the master limited partnership. His prior positions include manager of business development and marketing for Texas Eastern and Algonquin Gas Transmission, vice president of East Tennessee Natural Gas and group vice president of Duke Energy’s North American energy trading and merchant business. Harper started his career as an engineer for Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation.

Education and Accreditation: Harper received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He is an honors graduate of the University of Houston’s MBA program and has also completed executive development programs at Rice University and Harvard Business School.

Affiliations and Honors: Harper is actively involved in community service, including educational, industry, professional and arts organizations. He serves as chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and is a member of the Dean’s Executive Board at the University of Houston (UH) Bauer College of Business. He also serves on the executive committee and is chair-elect for Theatre Under the Stars and is on the board of directors for Neighborhood Centers Incorporated.

Personal: A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Harper has a daughter and two sons.
