Joe McGoldrick

​Current Position: Executive Vice President and President, Gas Division

Previous Positions: McGoldrick began his career with the company in 1979 and held a variety of positions in accounting, corporate budget, strategic management, corporate planning, and rates and research, before being named treasurer in 1993. In 1996, he was named vice president of planning, policy development and treasurer for Houston Lighting & Power Company. In 1997, he was name vice president, operations for Reliant Energy International, Inc. He held that position until 2000, when he was named senior vice president, finance & administration-retail group for Reliant Energy. In 2001, he was named vice president of strategic planning for CenterPoint Energy. He became senior vice president finance & regulatory in December 2005 and became division president gas operations in March 2007. He was named division president, energy services in 2011 and promoted to his current position in September 2012. McGoldrick began his career in 1975 with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche in their Miami, Florida office.

Education and Accreditation: McGoldrick graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami with a bachelors degree in accounting. He completed executive management courses at Texas A&M University and Baylor University and is a certified public accountant.

Affiliations and Honors: McGoldrick is a member of the American Gas Association's Leadership Council. Previously, he served on the board of the Southern Gas Association, and chaired the Executive Advisory Committee of the Economic and Public Policy/Strategic Planning ​Committee of the Edison Electric Institute during industry restructuring. He also served on the boards of Empresa DeEnergia Del Pacifico S.A.E.S.P. and Electrocosta/Electricaribe in the Republic of Colombia. Additionally, he is past president of a chapter of United Methodist Men.  McGoldrick received scholar-athlete recognition while at the University of Miami.

Personal: McGoldrick is a native of Elmhurst, Illinois. He and his wife have four sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
