Employees in Altus, Okla., welcomed military recruits and greeted returning soldiers at Altus Air Force Base during a recent Altus Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 quarterly event. CNP volunteers helped with event set-up and hosted a booth explaining CNP’s service in the community as well as the company’s role as the gas supplier for the base.
More than 360 soldiers and family members dined on Mexican food and enjoyed a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake presentation in which handlers explained the snake’s habitat and feeding habits, as well as what individuals should do when they encounter the snakes in the wild. Ryan Graham, service technician, pictured with Randi Lynch and her daughters, said attendees included recent high-school graduates, people from around the country and soldiers who had very recently returned from the war effort. Many commented on the event’s inviting atmosphere, saying it felt like they were “back home.”
