The Minnesota SWAT (Safety Wellness Action Team) donned hair nets and joined others to support Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding children. The group hand-packed meals formulated specially for starving children and shipped the food to more than 60 countries around the world. At this packing session, food packages were destined for Haiti and Honduras. A single meal costs only 17 cents to produce, and with the help of volunteers, 94 percent of total donations go directly toward the food program. In just two hours, this group of 15 volunteers packaged 4,320 meals, or the equivalent of feeding 12 children for a whole year. “This is easily one of the best things we do all year,” said Kristine Tande, Damage Prevention supervisor for Gas Operations in Minnesota.
