Employees and family members from Tyler and Mineola, Texas, joined forces to form three CenterPoint Energy teams at the Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon. Led by captains Steve McClendon, utility leader; Claude Figueroa, senior marketing consultant; and Ricky Haisten, operations supervisor; they raised more than $700. “The Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon is a fun, family-centered event where the most experienced to the least experienced bowlers can enjoy an evening of fellowship while helping a great cause,” said Figueroa. The Figueroa family also earned second place in the bowling pin decoration contest for their Mardi Gras-themed pin, complete with beads, feathers and a mask. The pin will be on display at the Jaycees National Convention in New Orleans, La. later this year.
