Earlier this summer, volunteers from CNP participated in the Annual Tomato Festival in Crystal Spring, Miss., by hosting a booth and handing out water so that the attendees would not overheat. Participants were grateful for the cool treat as the heat index topped at 105 degrees. Crystal Springs is referred to as the Tomatopolis of the World, and the Tomato Festival celebrates its history and the vegetable that makes the area famous.
“Residents and local officials are thankful that CNP takes the time to be a part of the festival,” said Tina Lakey, district director and event volunteer. “They also shared positive comments about CNP’s continued involvement in their community.”
