Over the Memorial Day weekend, about 50 CNP employees and their family members participated in the annual “Dancin’ in the Street” Motown and More Review, sponsored by Black American Cultural and Educational (B.A.C.E.) Productions. Despite the rainy weather, the four-day event at Miller Outdoor Theatre was a success. Janette Hammond, Corporate Community Relations program manager and volunteer coordinator for this event, said Motown draws approximately 20,000 attendees each year from the Houston metro area.CNP volunteers came out Friday and Saturday night to distribute programs, fans and other giveaway items to the participating audience. Volunteers, including Michael Joseph, Houston East District Gas Operations area manager; Earlmond Hammond and Ira Walker, both CNP retirees; (pictured left to right) also helped distribute hurricane tracking charts and Energy InSight brochures. The company’s Energy InSight commercial was showcased throughout the event on the screen at the main entertainment stage.
