CNP celebrated Louisiana’s rich heritage as a title sponsor of the 26th Annual Mudbug Madness Festival, held in Shreveport, La., May 21 - 24. Louisiana-area employees were involved in every aspect of the festival, from financial and on-site support to volunteer recruitment.
Mudbug Madness is a term used to describe Louisiana’s love for crawfish. The event has grown into one of the state’s largest and most popular Cajun festivals, featuring renowned Cajun, zydeco, blues and jazz artists, Cajun cuisine, and fun for all ages.
Kathy Jackson, facilities manager in Shreveport, coordinated the event and Pam Dumas, senior secretary from Houston, assisted the team. “This was my second year to attend, and what makes this event so special is witnessing firsthand all the hard work and effort that goes into making such an event happen. Kathy’s team designed and built this year’s booth and the festival attendees loved it. I’ve already made plans to attend next year!” said Dumas.
The festival is nationally recognized as one of the Southwest Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events and draws almost 60,000 attendees each day. Mudbug Madness benefits the Downtown Shreveport Unlimited, a private nonprofit dedicated to the quality of downtown projects and events.
