Scott Prochazka, division senior vice president, Electric Operations, and wife Mary Ellen (far left) presented a donation of $5,650 to Casa de Esperanza de los Niños (the House of Hope for Children). The donation, including a portion of the proceeds from CNP Day at Minute Maid Park ticket sales as well as CNP Day T-shirt sales, will fund the needs of one of the agency’s homes for one month.
“Mary Ellen and I are pleased to present this donation on behalf of CenterPoint Energy,” said Prochazka. “My wife volunteers there regularly, and we want to do all that we can to further their important mission of caring for children of troubled families.”
Casa de Esperanza began 28 years ago to help children with special needs and infants/children affected by abuse, neglect or HIV. The House of Hope accommodates children whose families have been affected by domestic violence, substance abuse and poverty. It is a comprehensive crisis residential community including medical and psychological assistance for children from birth to six years of age. To learn more, visit www.casahope.org.
