The Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) recently recognized Lucretia Ahrens, Corporate Community Relations manager, with the Distinguished Leadership Award at the annual TBEC VIP Briefing in Dallas. Previous recipients of this distinguished honor include Bill Ratliff, former Texas senator, and Paul Sadler, former lieutenant governor and Texas representative. Ahrens has been a member of TBEC’s Coordinating Committee since 1995. She has served on every subcommittee and played a major role in developing the organization’s most successful initiatives including the Texas Scholars Program, the TBEC Honor Roll Schools Recognition event and the annual VIP Briefing. Her efforts on behalf of Texas Scholars in the Houston region have resulted in the highest volunteer and student participation numbers in the state. Ahrens oversees all of CNP’s education-oriented community activities.
