CNP’s wellness efforts recognized in Minnesota

SWATHennepin County in Minnesota honored the CenterPoint Energy Safety Wellness Action Team’s (SWAT) efforts with a silver-level Wellness by Design Award for the organization’s commitment to create programs and environments that support and encourage employee health. “SWAT volunteers also partner with Community Relations on events that can promote healthy lifestyles, and they raised $7,500 for the March of Dimes this year,” said Jean Krause, director, Community Relations. Kelly Harjes, Public Health Promotion, Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health, presented the award to Daryl Pearson, CNP safety specialist and SWAT leader, last month. This is the second year that CNP has received this award, which recognizes structured, innovative, and effective approaches to influence healthy behaviors and serves as a model for others interested in improving the quality of life in Hennepin County.
