The 2009 Community Partnership Grant Program for the Minnesota service area has awarded 69 grants totaling $124,700 to cities for emergency-response safety equipment. “We‟re pleased that these partnership grants will help cities obtain additional tools and safety equipment enabling them to better respond to emergencies,” said David Baker, division vice president of Gas Operations in Minnesota.
CNP Community Relations employees received positive feedback from city officials and employees who delivered the grant checks during the months of June and July. Projects and programs are awarded grants up to $2,500 to supplement purchases of safety equipment. “We believe that our program strengthens the communities we serve and supports a shared commitment to safety,” added Baker.
