Eleven CNP employees were among more than 150 local business and community leaders who took part in the Houston Independent School District‟s sixth annual “Principal for a Day” initiative, which demonstrates what it takes to lead an elementary, middle or high school in the nation‟s seventh-largest school district.
Patrick Stephenson, senior service consultant, who served as “guest principal” at Pat Neff Elementary School, said the experience can be summed up in one word: awesome. “Principal Anita Lundvall showed calmness in every situation that popped up. Not only did she have me visiting for the day, she also hosted a parent conference, participated in a news interview, celebrated her birthday with her staff, and still had time to take me around and meet the second and fifth graders for some one-on-one time.”
This was CNP‟s third year participating in the program and an HISD official noted that company had more representatives than anyone. Other CNP guest principals were Joe Berry, Ricardo Castillo, Steve Waters, Blanca Velasquez, Charles Cunningham, Brandelyn Williams, Michael Adams, Stevence Gipson, Rafael Cruz and Cevera White-Gipson.
