Mississippi volunteers helped keep Tomato Festival visitors from over-heating. Area residents braved temperatures that topped the 100-degree mark during the annual Tomato Festival, held in Crystal Springs, Miss. The CNP booth proved to be an oasis on the hot summer day, as Michael Jefferson, drafter, and other employees and family members from Brookhaven and Pearl, Miss., passed out bottles of cold water to thirsty festival attendees. Children also received CNP pencils and a gas safety activity book. Crystal Springs is referred to as the Tomatopolis of the World, as it celebrates history and vegetables that proudly proclaim the area.
