• There are more than a dozen parks, playgrounds and gazebos in New Iberia.
• The 178-mile-long Jean Lafitte Scenic Byway crisscrosses through the heart of central Acadiana (also known as Cajun Country).
• Bayou Teche Scenic Byway twists and turns for 125 miles through southern Louisiana, following the Bayou Teche.
• The Bayou Teche was the center of a booming cypress industry in the early 1900s.
