Help restore power and keep the lights on

CenterPoint Energy is currently looking for full-time Helper IV workers to assist in the construction, maintenance, relocation, diagnosis of problems and repair of primary and/or secondary voltage electrical facilities in a safe, efficient and focused manner.

This employee works as directed to assist in the restoration of power in the event of a storm, is able to respond to calls 7 days per week, 24 hours per day and interprets blueprints, work orders, manuals and other technical material related to the performance of the job. This person also satisfactorily demonstrates the ability to climb poles within 30 days of hire, has the ability to work from aerial devices up to 200 feet, is able to accept apprenticeship when/if offered and meets company requirements for successful advancement to each level of the three year apprenticeship program.

Under the direct supervision of a Head Journeyman, this entry level position may qualify a person for advancement into Electric Operations skilled work. View Job Openings for Helper IV for more information or to apply for this job.
