CenterPoint Energy is currently looking for full-time Apprentices to assist in the construction, maintenance, relocation, diagnosis of problems and repair of primary and secondary electrical facilities in a safe, efficient and focused manner.
This employee works as directed to assist in the restoration of power in the event of a storm, is able to respond to calls 7 days per week, 24 hours per day, remains focused and follows procedures while working in close proximity to energized primary and secondary voltage equipment with minimal supervision and interprets blueprints, work orders, manuals and other technical material related to the performance of the job. This person has an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics or Electrical Technology or 60 credit hours of formal training in electrical, electronics, engineering or a related technical discipline. Two or more years of commercial and/or military experience in industry related work may offset the education requirements.
